Pinnacle Investment Management (Pinnacle) a multi-affiliate investment management firm with over $89 billion in assets under management has acquired Winston Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Winston Capital Partners was founded by Stephen Robertson and Andrew Fairweather who had been working alongside Pinnacle for several years in the distribution of the Coolabah Capital suite of fixed income products.

The group was a leading third-party marketing and distribution firm having supporting early stage seed capital investments for new boutiques along with retail distribution of a number of other open and closed ended funds. As part of the deal, Winston will no longer distribute non-Pinnacle investment managers.

The team had worked closely supporting the retail distribution of Coolabah, alongside Pinnacle who undertook the wholesale distribution, with the four Winston sales executives to be join Pinnacle’s retail distribution team alongside Ramsin Jajoo, Head of Retail.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jajoo said “adding highly credentialed executives such as Winston’s founding partners Stephen Robertson and Andrew Fairweather, along with the broader team, further enhances our presence strong market relationships.

“In particular, this transaction provides Pinnacle with on-the-ground representation in Western Australia for the first time, with Andrew Fairweather to continue residing in Perth upon transitioning into the Pinnacle business.”

Andrew Fairweather, Founding Partner of Winston Capital Partners said joining forces with Pinnacle is a transaction that will deliver strong outcomes for investors.

Co-Founder Stephen Robertson, also commented, saying both Pinnacle and Winston have shared the same values and goals over many years.

“We share Pinnacle’s belief that investors can achieve stronger client outcomes in a boutique environment, where they’re not distracted by non-investment functions. The Pinnacle Group’s long-standing mission of enabling better lives through investment excellence is one that very much aligns with what has motivated all of us at Winston over many years.
